For the apples -
1 apple, diced
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
For the crumble-
1/2 tbsp brown sugar
2 1/2 tbsp flour
1 1/2 tbsp oats
1/8 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp cold butter, cubed
1) Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2) Dice your apple into 1/2 inch cubes.
3) In a small bowl, combine the diced apple, lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Place into a small baking dish and bake at 375 °F for a total of 25 minutes.
4) Combine the sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and baking soda. Then add the vanilla and cubed butter and work the butter in with your fingers or a spoon until mostly combined.
5) Set this mixture aside until 15 minutes have passed in the oven, then crumble on top and finish off for 10 minutes.
7) When done, allow the crisp to cool. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, yogurt, or just by itself. Enjoy!!
